Targeted bird species; Bird life abounds and sightings of Pale Chanting Goshawk, all vulture species; white Headed, White Baked, Hooded and Lappet-faced, amongst many raptors are possible.
Nxai Pan is located in the north part of Maun as you drive on the A3 road that leads to Gweta-Nata village. The pan boarder with Makgadikgadi pans in the north. The landscape of the pan is covered with dotted acacia trees that give spectacular view of umbrella kind of shape.
The landscape is dotted with clusters of umbrella Acacia trees and Mopane woodland in the north. Nxai Pan, the name of which is claimed by some to be that of a hooked metal rod used to remove springhares from their holes, and by others to simply mean a pan. During rain seasons the pan become unique with grass and natural waterhole that begins to revive again after the rains hence attracting wildlife such as Zebras, Springbok and Wildebeest amongst the many species that can be spotted. It is also a home to wild cats that hunts in mostly open wide space, the cheetah which are rarely spotted. In your game drives you will explore the beautiful Baines Baobab trees.
