Khwai

Khwai

The Khwai Concession is a large area dominated by Mopane forests on the north eastern edge of the Okavango Delta. As a privately managed concession Khwai gives you access to unrestricted game viewing, night drives that will give you a glimpse into the marvels of wildlife at might.

This surely has to be among the destinations of choice due to the flexibility of its tours. It is totally undeveloped and is Africa “as it was”. There are camps situated along the wet lands adjacent to the Khwai River that also offers breath-taking sunsets. Campsites that we frequent are: Xaxanaka, Third Bridge, Mboma and Khwai.

The Khwai area of Moremi, is one of the best places to visit for Wildlife in Botswana, and one of the few places where we can conduct night drives, and Bush Walks (Optional). The Khwai River plays and important role in the eco system and in actual fact is the glue that holds the Life together here. For another safari experience you will drive in the northeast tip of Moremi for another camping site at Khwai.

Covering one third of the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve is undoubtedly one of the top wildlife destinations in the world. It is set within wildlife management areas, allowing free movement of wildlife across its borders. The Khwai floodplains, contrast beautifully with the lush island vegetation of the Xakanaxa area. Head upon head of animals come down to drink from the Khwai river, drawing along predators from the woods. The bird life is exquisite.
